HutchCC Faculty — Preparing for Jenzabar One (J1)

Hutchinson Community College is implementing Jenzabar One (J1), a modern enterprise system that will replace the current PX system and the existing DragonZone experience.

This transition is part of a broader effort to modernize core academic and administrative systems, improve efficiency, and provide a more consistent experience for faculty, staff, and students.

• What You Need to Know
  • The system migration will begin on July 9, 2026 and is scheduled to be completed by July 31, 2026. During this time, DragonZone and PX will be available in read-only mode only.

  Some administrative functions, including purchasing, financial processing, student enrollment, account updates, and financial aid processing, will be temporarily paused or handled through manual processes during the migration window.

  • Canvas (LearningZone) will not be impacted and will remain fully operational. Faculty should continue to use Canvas (LearningZone) for instruction and course communication as normal.
• What is Changing?

  Once J1 is fully implemented, faculty will notice updates to how systems are accessed and used, including:

  • A new DragonZone portal interface with updated navigation and design
  • Access to key faculty functions (such as course rosters, grading, and course tools) through the new J1 Web portal.
  • A more integrated system connecting academic, student, and administrative data in one platform

  Detailed login instructions and system guidance will be coming soon.

• Training and Support

  Training sessions and support resources will be provided to help faculty prepare for and transition into the new system. Information about training opportunities will be shared when it becomes available. 

  Faculty are encouraged to participate in training as needed to become familiar with new processes and tools in J1.

  Advising:

  Advisor training will be provided on the following dates/times:

  • Friday, August 14 | 2:00–4:00 p.m. | PSU Alumni Room
  • Monday, August 17 | 2:00–4:00 p.m. | PSU Blue Dragon Room
  • Tuesday, August 18 | 2:00–4:00 p.m. | PSU Blue Dragon Room
  • Monday, August 24 | 2:00–3:30 p.m. | PSU Alumni Room
  • Tuesday, September 1 | 2:00–4:00 p.m. | PSU Alumni Room

  Training will cover how to register a student, view an advising worksheet, update an advising worksheet, and print a student's class schedule. Meeting invitations have been sent to academic advisors. For more information, contact DJ Chastain at ChastainD@hutchcc.edu.
