HutchCC Students — Preparing for Jenzabar One (J1)

Jenzabar One will bring updates to DragonZone, registration, billing, financial aid, transcripts, and other student services.
This page will help students understand what to expect before, during, and after the transition.

Transition Period

July 9–31, 2026

  • What to Expect During the Transition to J1

Hutchinson Community College is implementing Jenzabar One (J1), a new student information system that will improve the student experience and modernize core campus systems used for academic and financial services.

  • About the Transition

As part of this implementation, HutchCC is transitioning from the current DragonZone to Jenzabar One. This upgrade is designed to provide students with a more streamlined and user-friendly experience for managing their academic journey.

Once fully implemented, students will benefit from:

    • A more intuitive and modern student interface
    • Improved tools for course search, planning, and registration
    • Easier access to academic progress and degree information
    • More consistent and connected access to student services
  • System Availability During the Transition

The J1 implementation will begin on July 9, 2026 and is scheduled to be completed on July 31, 2026. During this time, DragonZone will have limited functionality and may be available in read-only mode only.

Some services will be temporarily unavailable, including:

    • Course registration and schedule changes
    • Admissions processing and updates
    • Financial aid processing and related updates
    • Student account transactions and payments
    • Other integrated student service functions
    • Summer 2026 grades will not be available in DragonZone until August 1st at the earliest
  • Supporting Students During the Transition

HutchCC is working to ensure students have the support and resources needed throughout the implementation. While systems are being transitioned, staff across campus will be available to assist with questions and provide guidance as processes are updated.

Additional information, instructions, and support resources will be shared prior to Go Live and updated as needed throughout the transition period.

    • Summer 2026 Grades: Grades for the summer 2026 semester will not be available in DragonZone until August 1st at the earliest.

    • Parking: Registering for parking will not be available during the transition period, July 9-31.

    • Billing: We are currently accepting in-person and online payments.  Students can pay online through July 24th.  After that, students may call in with debit or credit card information. They may also continue to pay in person between 8:00-3:00 Monday through Friday.  Please note that  payments received will not be posted to student accounts until after our conversion is completed.

    • Campus Store

      • The book rental program is not available this summer. (We are planning on having it back up again for fall.)

      • There will be no online sales in July.

      • The bookstore is planning to be open during the transition period for in-person cash or credit card sales only. (No checks)

      • Purchases using financial aid or third party scholarships will not be available in July.

      • Fall semester books will not be available for purchase in July.

      • For further information, please contact Lynita Braun at BraunA@hutchcc.edu.

    • Financial Aid: Aid will continue to be awarded throughout the transition period. Please log into your aid portal to accept any awarded aid. Contact FinAid@hutchcc.edu with any questions.

    • IT: The HelpDesk is available and operating normally.  Technical support issues with computer hardware, or access to email or online classes is still available.  Our summer hours are 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday, and support tickets can still be entered at: https://helpdesk.hutchcc.edu/support/

    • Refunds: Refund requests may be completed at www.hutchcc.edu/refunds. Response time for refund requests will be longer due to limited system access during the J1 implementation.

    • Withdrawals: Students who need to withdraw from Summer 2026 classes during the transition may contact records@hutchcc.edu. Withdrawal requests will be processed once the system is back online.
