ADMISSIONS

Guest Student

  • I will attend HutchCC just to take some courses.
  • I am over the age of 18 and not seeking a degree.
  • I will not be using any federal financial aid.
  • I am a student at another college planning to take one or two classes from HutchCC.

Enrollment Checklist

  • 1. Apply for admissions

    Once you complete the application you will receive an acceptance letter after you hit the submit button. An acceptance letter will also be emailed to you at the personal email address you provided on your HutchCC application.

  • 2. Enter DragonZone

    You have received an email from HutchCC with your username and password to login. Enter DragonZone and complete additional data elements.

  • 3. Enroll

    To enroll in a course as a guest student, follow these steps:

    • Go to the Academics tab, and click on schedule. Go to the search/add tab and type in the name of the course in the search box. Please make sure you are in the correct term when searching for classes.
    • If the course has a prerequisite for placement scores, please visit the HutchCC website for information on qualifying scores and email proof of scores to gueststudent@hutchcc.edu (or fax to 620-728-8199)
    • If the course has prerequisite class that you have completed at another institution, please email gueststudent@hutchcc.edu (or fax to 620-728-8199) with the following information:
      • Include your name, student ID, the name and course number of the class you are wanting to take, and the term you are interested in taking the course.
      • Attach an unofficial college transcript showing completion of the prerequisite class.
    • Confirm your intent in DragonZone.

    As a HutchCC student, you will use your DragonZone account for such things as checking grades, viewing payment and textbook information, adding or dropping courses, accessing the online content of courses, and ordering your HutchCC transcript. With the rising costs of higher education, affordability is always a concern for parents and students. Hutchinson Community College's Step Ahead program can help you get a head start on quality education at one of the premier colleges in Kansas.

Take some classes from HutchCC while you're attending a Kansas high school. After you graduate, enroll and attend full-time at HutchCC for your freshman year and we will reimburse you the cost you have spent on tuition. It's as easy as that!

Student Requirements

  • College credit must be a letter grade and students must have earned a grade of C or higher or a P in a pass/fail class.
  • Day or evening, on-campus, off-campus, Online, ITV, or internet classes taken during the fall, spring, or summer semesters prior to high school graduation are eligible for reimbursement.
  • The tuition reimbursement is granted to students who enroll and attend full-time in the fall or spring semesters following high school graduation. Official High School transcript (with graduation date posted) required.
  • HutchCC must be the only institution attended after high school graduation.
  • Graduated High School Seniors, attending only HutchCC summer classes, are not eligible for the program.
  • Be a Kansas resident
  • Reimbursement will cover only the tuition paid for by the student.

Concurrent Enrollment Process(CEP)

Concurrent enrollment partnership student means a person who enrolled in classes at a high school at which approved high school teachers teach college credit classes during the normal school day. He/she is also in either of grades 10,11 or 12 or who is gifted and is acceptable or has been accepted for enrollment at an eligible postsecondary educational institution.

Concurrently enrolled students must meet institutional enrollment requirements, follow institutional procedures regarding assessment/placement, and satisfy course prerequisites.  The CEP policy offers more information about student eligibility.

High School:

Official high school transcript with a graduation date posted must be sent in one of the following ways to be considered for Regular or Special Admission status.

  • Mailed directly from the High School to HutchCC at the following address:

  •     Electronically by Parchment/Docufide
  •     Faxed directly from your High school to us at 620-728-8199 (as long as your high school will count the transcript as official).
