How Do My Credits Transfer?

The college offers a comprehensive parallel program of freshman-sophomore requirements for baccalaureate degrees in four-year institutions. Students who will be transferring to a baccalaureate-granting institution should study that institution's catalog, consult with their advisor, and enroll in community college courses that satisfy transfer requirements.

Personal Counseling

Professional counselors provide a confidential and empathetic environment in which students may seek assistance with issues they face. Personal counseling services are designed to assist students with emotional and behavioral problems that may interfere with the successful attainment of college goals. Typical counseling needs among college students include stress and anxiety, alcohol and drug abuse, loneliness, eating and sleeping issues, and relationship problems. Students in need of long-term or clinical psychological treatment are referred to outside agencies and services.

Crisis Information

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency and need professional intervention, the 24-hour mental health crisis number is 988. Visit the 988 Lifeline webpage for more information or to chat live with a representative

Social Work Services

Social work services, located in Parker Student Union, provide resourcing for various student needs. Resources may be shared related to college supports, financial services, rent assistance, mental health symptoms, substance abuse issues, and other needs. Beyond immediate resourcing, students may set up ongoing appointments to work towards their own goals in various areas of life and process progress and any further needs.

Close to 40% of college students in the U.S. deal with food insecurity.  This can force them to choose between books and food. Studies have shown that students perform better in the classroom when they are not dealing with hunger.

The HutchCC Blue Dragon Food Pantry is open in the Rimmer Learning Resource Center for HutchCC students to stop by to pick up food and hygiene products (shampoo, bar soap, laundry detergent, etc.). There are also “pop up” pantries around campus and at outreach locations.  If a student has a greater need, stop by the Student Success Center in the Parker Student Union for more information.
