What is the plan for the residence halls for the 2020-21 school year?
HutchCC Housing is planning to be open for Fall 2020. Check-in for general students is Monday, August 10 with specific check-in times assigned to residents between 9:00 am - 3:00 pm that day. To encourage social distancing and cut down on exposure, each resident is allowed no more than two people (no one under 10 years of age) to help them move in. Only the resident will queue up for the check-in line (to get key, information, etc), with moving helpers staying outside. All people entering the buildings will be temperature checked and ALL must wear face coverings when in the buildings (outside the dorm room). Reno County and the State of Kansas are mandating that all people wear face coverings in public. Please adhere to this mandate and have a face covering, while in the public areas of the Residence Halls, this includes hallways, lobbies, laundry rooms, bathrooms, and the office.
Until further notice, these are the safety protocols that will be followed in HutchCC Housing:
HutchCC has set aside quarantine housing for students who test positive for COVID or have been exposed and deemed vulnerable to contracting COVID. When in quarantine, residents cannot leave their quarantine quarters until they are cleared by medical professional. The current practice is 10 days past diagnosis and 14 days past close exposure (roommate) to a positive-case person. Meals will be delivered to those students and their classes will move to an on-line format until they are out of quarantine.
Everyone must wear a mask or face covering in the appropriate manner. These must be worn in public areas - hallways, lobbies, lounges, entryways, laundry rooms, bathrooms and office. This means you need to have a face covering, inside the building when you are outside your dorm room.
