Automotive Technology - AAS

This program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all types of automobiles, including instruction in brake systems, electrical systems, engine performance, engine repair, suspension and steering, automatic and manual transmissions and drive trains, and heating and air conditioning systems.

Automotive service technicians and mechanics work for retail and wholesale dealers, independent repair shops, and service facilities at department or automotive supply stores. Others are employed in gasoline service stations, rental car companies, and government agencies; some are self-employed. Auto mechanic skills are also in demand in industrial environments.
