Hutchinson, Kan. – Hutchinson Community College will be offering a summer intensive welding GMAW/MIG course beginning on June 9.
The class will meet in the Ade-Wifco RCIC Building at 613 E. 14th Street from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, from June 9-20. The cost of the course is $312, but is Senate Bill 155 eligible and provides free tuition for eligible 2014-15 high school juniors or seniors. The course will provide three hours of college credit, and financial aid is available for those who qualify.
This hands-on class will teach basic GMAW/MIG (gas) welding skills necessary for immediate employment in the welding field, or provide a refresher course for those with welding experience. Safety glasses, welding helmet, gloves and pliers will be provided for the course. Students must wear jeans, welding jacket and leather closed-toe shoes for the course.
Hutchinson Community College will offer a variety of additional welding courses in the fall, and enrollment is open for those courses.
