BERNSTEIN ANNOUNCED FOR 2015 DILLON LECTURE SERIES
Hutchinson, Kan. –J.B. Bernstein, a sports agent and marketing pioneer, has been announced as the first speaker for the 2015 Ray and Stella Dillon Lecture Series at Hutchinson Community College. Bernstein will lecture on April 7, at 10:30 a.m. in the Hutchinson Sports Arena. The lecture is open to the public. Cost to attend the lecture is only $10, with students admitted free.

Bernstein, the CMO of Seven Figures Management, a sports marketing and athlete representation firm, is the inspiration for the Disney Film Million Dollar Arm released this May. Bernstein is played by actor Jon Hamm in the film. Bernstein developed a contest to identify talent for Major League Baseball in India, resulting in the signing of the first two Indian-born men to pro contracts in the U.S.
Bernstein has represented many great athletes during his career, including Barry Bonds, Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith and Curtis Martin. He served as Head of Licensing for Major League Soccer (MLS) from 1995-97 and created the league’s merchandising program.
Bernstein holds a bachelor’s degree in political economics from Massachusetts-Amherst and an MBA from the London School of Economics. An avid amateur physicist, Bernstein also holds a Ph.D. in physics from Southern California and is currently pursuing a second doctorate in the sciences.
2015 will be the 34th season for the Dillon Lecture Series on the HCC Campus. The 2014 season will conclude this fall with two remaining speakers: Captain Richard Phillips (September 23) and NASA engineer Dr. Adam Steltzer (Nov. 14).
