> NewsHutchinson, Kan. – The Hutchinson Community College Student Success Center office will hold their annual student health and wellness day “Leap into Wellness”, on Wednesday, February 29. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Parker Student Union. The event is free and open to all HCC students, faculty and staff. The event is held yearly, to promote health on the campus in a variety of ways. In addition to health screenings for substance abuse, eating disorders and depression, the fair features a variety of fun events designed to promote stress relief and fun for all. In addition to services provided by HCC, several area health organizations are partnering with the college to provide health and wellness information to students. Some of the participating organizations include; Communities that Care Coalition, Reno County Extension Office, Prairie Star, Reno County Health Department, Horizons Mental Health Center, and the Volunteer Action Center. In addition, door prizes provided by HCC departments, including the campus bookstore, will be given away at the fair. More than 300 students, staff and faculty participated in the last fair. The event is designed to promote awareness of the counseling programs available on the HCC campus, knowledge of the health facilities on campus, and increase awareness of the Student Success Center.
