Transfer Student Checklist
Making the transition from high school to college can be an easy process. Entering college for the first time requires some paperwork. The checklist below will help you keep track of what is to be completed.
1 ) Explore Majors and Programs
HCC offers more than 80 different degree and certificate programs in some of todays most in-demand career fields.
2 ) Apply for Admission
The admissions application is an easy online step to getting your foot into the door at HCC. If you prefer, you can also request a paper application or come by admissions and we will help you fill it out.

3 ) Cost, Scholarship and Financial Aid *
Complete and send in the scholarship application. (Priority deadline for Scholarship application is Feb. 15th)

4 ) Housing *
Complete and mail housing application by July 1 or contact the Hutchinson Chamber of Commerce for apartment listings if you will be living off campus.

5 ) Submit Official College and Highschool Transcripts
If you are seeking a degree from HCC then... request a completed official copy of your high school transcript and all other College/University that you have attended to be mailed to the Admissions Office.

6 ) Enrollment/ Testing
Complete registration process as instructed by the Admissions Office. In most cases this will mean attending an Enrollment Day.
HCC requires a minimum Reading competency for all classes and certain classes require a minimum English or Math standard. If you submit ACT scores, you may not have to take additional placement tests, call Admissions Office for more information.
