Hutchinson Community College Athletics

The Hutchinson Sports Arena has served as the home of the Blue Dragons since it was built in 1952. It is also the home of the NJCAA National Basketball Tournament that is held every March here in Hutchinson. It's first attraction was the 1952 NJCAA National Tournament.

The Sports Arena underwent major renovation in 1981 as well as an update in 1993. A new office complex on the south side named the "Humiston Administration Center" was also added. The complex houses the offices of the HCC athletic department, a conference room and hospitality room. The building also contains a practice gymnasium, larger training room, weight room and ample press box for radio and television coverage of events.

It's atmosphere and spaciousness is beyond description, with a seating capacity of 7,600. The Sports Arena is located on a 25 acre tract with paved parking for more than 1,500 cars.
