Tryout Information

  Tryout Questionnaire

   If you would like to tryout for a cheerleader, yell leader or mascot position, copy and complete the questionnaire and consent and FAX or send them to:

You can fax to (620) 665-3394; or scan and e-mail the completed forms to Lisa Ward at wardl@hutchcc.edu. 

Then call or e-mail Lisa to schedule a visit to practice or a tryout. Generally cheerleaders, yell leaders and mascots should possess the following skills or experience: 

Cheerleaders

+ Solid roundoff back-handspring

+ Solid standing back-handspring

+ Standing back tuck
+ Solid Double Toe Touch Jump
+ Great Motions and Crowd Appeal
+ Stunters:  Toss stunts and double down

+ Willingness to fly basket tosses and pyramid
+ Willingness to work very hard and be a positive influence

+ Tumblers: Running pass, including a full.
+ Generally cheerleaders are within the 85 lbs to 135 lbs range

Yell Leaders

Required Skills:

+ Stunts: Solid standing back tuck; Toss hands-lib variations; Prefer toss stunts

+ Tumblers: Running pass including a full

+ Strong voice
+ Fun & energetic with great crowd appeal
+ Experience and interest in lifting weights
+ Willingness to work very hard and be a positive influence
+ Generally yell leaders are within the 170-to-280- lb. range

Mascots:

+ Crowd Appeal
+ Desire to be the center of attention
+ Creative in developing skits
+ Willingness to be coached
+ Willingness to stunt and jump
+ Experience as a mascot
+ Love of kids
