AMARAL EARNS FIRST-TEAM NJCAA ALL-AMERICA VOLLEYBALL HONORS |
By Steve Carpenter
HCC Sports Information Director
Wednesday, November 28, 2007
After one of the best single
seasons in Hutchinson Community College volleyball history,
sophomore middle blocker Ludmila Amaral was named to the first
team of the 2007 NJCAA Division I Volleyball All-America team.
The 2007 All-America team was
released by the NJCAA National Office on Wednesday.
Amaral, a 6-foot sophomore middle
blocker from Cubatao, Brazil, becomes the second two-time
All-American in HCC history, joining two-time first-team
All-American Mariana Blum.
Amaral was second-team
All-American in 2006.
Amaral’s selection to the first
team marks the fourth-straight season that the Lady Dragons have
had a player on the first team (Mariana Blum, 2004 and 2005;
Brandi Hood, 2006). This is the fifth-straight season for HCC to
have an All-American volleyball player.
