COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa – The

three-set sweeps.
On Saturday morning, the
Lady Dragons upended No. 3 Missouri State-West Plains 26-24, 25-18, 25-22.
HCC then toppled Division II Kirkwood Community College 25-23, 25-21, 25-11

The Lady Dragons will now
open Jayhawk Conference play on Tuesday night at Pratt, and then it’s off to
Florida for the weekend and the Hillsborough Invitational in Hillsborough,
Fla.
“I
told the girls to not get too caught up with that win because it's tough to
tell much from preseason polls,” HCC coach Ronda Shirley said. “But West
Plains always is in the top 10 and a big rival for an out-of-state team.”
