HIGHLAND – The Hutchinson
Community College women’s track and field team opened the 2009 indoor season
on Saturday with a strong effort on the track and one NJCAA Indoor national

The Lady Dragons captured
two event victories and had 12 top-three finishes at Highland.
Freshman Leeza Henry
produced the second-best shot put mark in the nation this season when she
went 39 feet, 0.5 inches to win the event. Henry just missed qualifying in
the weight throw. She finished second in that event with a throw of 43-8.5

the national qualifying standard.
Henry led what was a strong
overall showing in the throws for the Lady Dragons.

Megan Woods finished sixth (34-1.5) and freshman Kyleigh Edwards was seventh
(33-3.25). Ashton Wendler was ninth (31-5.75), Kristen Arneson finished 11th
