Tied into its final at-bat of Game 1, freshman Jessica Glenn’s infield single scored freshman Kelli Dennis with the wining run for a 2-1 victory. HCC made it a sweep after rallying from four runs down to score six unanswered to defeat the Conquistadors 6-4 in the nightcap.

Torres went 3 for 3 in Hutchinson’s 14-run third inning that helped HCC to a 22-0 five-inning victory over the Lions in the opener. Schroeder then completed a 6 for 7 day with three hits in the nightcap as Hutchinson won 10-0 in five innings.

HCC (28-14 overall, 5-4 west sub-region) won its fifth consecutive game, all by run rule. The five-game win streak ties a season long string of success for HCC in 2008.
