REPEAT AS REGION VI CHAMPIONS

GOTHENBURG, Neb. - The Hutchinson Community College golf team repeated as Region VI champion on Tuesday at Wild Horse Golf Club in Gothenburg, Neb.

Coming into the day tied for the Region VI lead, Hutchinson outshot Dodge City by seven strokes in the final round to wiht 905-912.

Indian Hills won the District III title with an 879.

Defending tournament champion Alex Wasinger defended his Region VI championship shooting an even-par 72 in the final round to finish with a 221, one stroke ahead of Henrick Holm of Dodge City.

This is the third-straight year that a Blue Dragon golfer has won a regional title (Ty Way in 2006, Wasinger in 2007) and it's the fifth time in program history that a Blue Dragon golfer has captured a regional individual championship. <FULL RELEASE>

The Hutchinson Community College men’s golf team has to navigate 18 more holes with a 20-stroke cushion on Sunday to capture a second Jayhawk Conference championship in three seasons.

The Blue Dragons blistered Cottonwood Hills to the tune of a 5-over-par 293 in the second round of the sixth and final Jayhawk Conference tournament of the season on Saturday to build a 20-stroke lead over Dodge City and 25-stroke lead over Johnson County.

The final 18 holes will be Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. at Cottonwood Hills. HCC golfers tee off in the final five groups to go off of the first tee. The first Blue Dragon tee time is at 9:40 a.m. and runs through 10:20 a.m. <FULL RELEASE>
