Travis Kirk has a long history at Hutchinson Community College.
Kirk was a student at HCC. He was an
assistant coach with the Blue Dragons men’s team for two seasons and
is now in his sixth season as a Lady Dragon assistant coach.
Now a women’s assistant, Coach Kirk is
a tireless recruiter and fundraiser for the Lady Dragons.
During his first season with the HCC
women, the Lady Dragons tied a team record for wins with 27. When head
coach Nathan Daume was hired after the 2002 season,
Kirk’s
services were retained.
In 2005, Kirk helped the Lady
Dragons achieve the fifth-best season in the program's history,
finishing 23-8.
Kirk is a graduate of
Haven High School, Hutchinson
Community College and the University of
Kansas. He has a master’s
degree in sports administration from KU.
Coach Kirk was an assistant for the
Blue Dragon men under former coach Tim Jankovich, who is now an
assistant at Kansas.
