The Hutchinson Community
College women’s basketball team will play host to Neosho County in the first
round of the 2009 Region VI Tournament at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Sports
Arena.
The official pairings for
Region VI were released on Sunday afternoon.
Tickets for Tuesday’s Region
VI women’s game will be $5 for adults and $4 for children in eighth grade
and younger. There will be no reserved seating for the game.
The Hutchinson-Neosho County
winner will meet the Cowley College-Colby winner at 1 p.m. on Friday, March
6 at Wichita State University’s Charles Koch Arena.
Hutchinson will play host to
a first-round Region VI game for the third-straight season.
On Saturday night, the Lady
Dragons completed a 26-4 record season, which tied for the most
regular-season victories in program history. The Lady Dragons finished tied
second in the Jayhawk West with Seward County.
HCC will be the third seed
out of the Jayhawk West for the Region VI Tournament.
Tuesday’s meeting will be
the first Region VI meeting ever between Hutchinson and Neosho County.
The same two teams have
already met once this season. The Lady Dragons defeated Neosho County 74-55
on Nov. 14 in the Airport Steakhouse Classic.
Neosho County will enter
play on Tuesday with an 11-19 record, the sixth-seed out of the Jayhawk
West.
