Hutchinson Community College All-American point guard Bobby Maze officially signed with the University of Tennessee on Wednesday. HCC head coach Ryan Swanson made the announcement on Thursday.

Maze becomes the fifth Blue Dragon from this season to sign with a four-year school and second to a major university. Sophomore Abdul Herrera signed to play at Kansas State University, while freshman Blake Bales will sign with Division II Northwest Missouri State University. Antonio Weary signed with Central Michigan and Henry Rogers signed with Pittsburg State University. <RELEASE>

Hutchinson Community College sophomore point guard Bobby Maze became the fifth Blue Dragon in program history to earn first-team NJCAA All-America honors.

The NJCAA national office announced its 2008 Division I All-America teams on Tuesday. Maze became the first Blue Dragon first-team All-American since Brandon “Pooh” Gary in 2004. <RELEASE AND ALL-AMERICA TEAMS>

Hutchinson Community College sophomore Bobby Maze was named the 2008 Jayhawk Conference Western Division Most Valuable Player, the league announced on Thursday.

The All-Jayhawk Conference and All-Region VI teams were both announced on Thursday. The Blue Dragons had three players appear on the postseason teams.

Maze was named to the first team on both postseason teams. Sophomore Ken Bowman was named first-team all-Jayhawk West and second-team all-region. Redshirt freshman Antonio Weary was named second-team all-Jayhawk West.
