The Hutchinson Community College athletic
office announced on Thursday that the HCC men’s basketball team’s game with
the Friends University Junior Varsity postponed on Dec. 8 will be made up on
New Year’s Day.
The game will tip off at 1 p.m. on Tuesday,
Jan. 1.
There will be no admission to this game, HCC
athletic director Randy Stange said.
The game was originally scheduled as part of
the Airport Steakhouse Classic on Dec. 7-8 at the Sports Arena. The Blue
Dragons defeated Central Nebraska 97-72, while the Friends JV lost to Fort
Scott 73-65.
Airport Steakhouse will be the Game Sponsor
for the New Year’s Day game.
This will be the first time since 1998 that
the Blue Dragons have played on New Year’s Day. On that day, HCC played
Central Arizona in the Mesa Holiday Shootout and won 96-74.
Hutchinson enters the New Year’s Day game
with a 9-4 and winners of 8 of its last 10 games.
This will be the final non-conference game of
the season for HCC. The Blue Dragons will open Jayhawk West play on
Saturday, Jan. 5 against Seward County at the Sports Arena. |
