The Hutchinson Community College baseball team will have a familiar foe for the opening round of the Region VI Baseball Tournament this weekend.

The 29-22 Blue Dragons will face Seward County (34-20) at 4 p.m. on Saturday in the third of four opening-round contests at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in Wichita.

The eight-team, double-elimination tournament will run Saturday through Tuesday, May 12 with an extra championship game, if needed, on Wednesday, May 13.

Other opening round match-ups will be: at 10 a.m., Colby vs. Johnson County; at 1 p.m., Garden City vs. Barton; and at 7 p.m., Cowley vs. Fort Scott.

Weather permitting, the Hutchinson Community College men�s baseball team will play host to Coffeyville Community College this weekend in the Region VI Tournament opening-round series at Hobart-Detter Field.

The first two games of the best-of-3 series will be on Saturday. Game 1 begins at 2 p.m. with Game 2 to following 30 minutes after the completion of the series opener. If a third game is needed, it will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
