FORMER BLUE DRAGON NOAH KROL

RANKED NO. 8 SUMMER LEAGUE PROSPECT

HCC Sports Information

Wednesday, August 30, 2006

Former Hutchinson Blue Dragon baseball player Noah Krol has been tapped the No. 8 Summer League prospect in Baseball America’s Summer League Top 10 Prospects.

BA writer Will Kimmey ranked Krol, a current Wichita State University player who was a mainstay on HCC’s 2005 Region VI championship team that played in the NJCAA World Series.

Krol pitched and played shortstop for the El Dorado Broncos this past summer. According to Kimmey, Krol’s use as a closer was a big reason for the ranking. Krol ranked second in the Jayhawk League in saves with seven. He had 17 strikeouts in 12 innings. He allowed eight hits five walks the three runs for El Dorado, featuring a big-breaking power slider that touched 80 mph.  <STORY>

Former Hutchinson Community College baseball player T.J. Bohn recently enjoyed his first call-up to the major leagues when the Seattle Mariners promoted him to the big-league club.

Bohn, graduated from HCC in 2000 and later from Bellevue University in 2002, was called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Aug. 22.
