Cimmaron
rallied from nine points down late in the third quarter and knocked
off Wichita Collegiate when Brooke Fairbank scored with 1:52 to play
in the fourth quarter.
Collegiate led
29-20 with 1:31 to play in the third quarter after holding Cimarron
scoreless for 6 minutes, 58 seconds and without a field goal for 9
minutes, 24 seconds.
Haley Llloyd's
3-pointer with 1:31 to play in the quarter stopped the Bluejay
drought and Cimarron 20-11 the rest of the way. There were five lead
changes in the fourth quarter.
Kim Alexander
scored with 2:01 to play to give Collegiate a 40-39 lead, but
Fairbank found herself wide open under the hoop after a perfect
Amanda Payne pass for the go-ahead hoop with 1:02 to play. Lloyd
knocked down a pair of free throws with nine second left to up the
lead to 43-30, and then Cimarron held on for the victory after a
missed 3-point attempt.
Lloyd finished
with 18 points to lead Cimarron. Fairbank had 16..
Alexander had
