CIMARRON 43, WICHITA COLLEGIATE 40

Cimmaron rallied from nine points down late in the third quarter and knocked off Wichita Collegiate when Brooke Fairbank scored with 1:52 to play in the fourth quarter.

Collegiate led 29-20 with 1:31 to play in the third quarter after holding Cimarron scoreless for 6 minutes, 58 seconds and without a field goal for 9 minutes, 24 seconds.

Haley Llloyd's 3-pointer with 1:31 to play in the quarter stopped the Bluejay drought and Cimarron 20-11 the rest of the way. There were five lead changes in the fourth quarter.

Kim Alexander scored with 2:01 to play to give Collegiate a 40-39 lead, but Fairbank found herself wide open under the hoop after a perfect Amanda Payne pass for the go-ahead hoop with 1:02 to play. Lloyd knocked down a pair of free throws with nine second left to up the lead to 43-30, and then Cimarron held on for the victory after a missed 3-point attempt.

Lloyd finished with 18 points to lead Cimarron. Fairbank had 16..

Alexander had 12 points for Collegiate.

Riley County 55, Cherryvale 36

Beth Husted had a huge game to lead top-seeded and top-ranked Riley County into the 3A championship game again.

Husted had 15 points, seven rebounds, four blocked shots and three steals to lead Riley County. Katie Henry finished with 12 points.

Riley County shot 52.5 percent (21 of 40) from the floor and held Cherryvale to 29.2 percent (14 of 48).

Katie DeTar had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds with three blocked shots to lead Cherryvale.
