School's out, so what are
 we supposed to do now?

With finals coming up and school coming to a close, many students are wondering what they should do with their lives.

For a lot of students, college is something that’s expected of them. These days if you don’t go to college it seems like you’re looked down upon.

Honestly, people look differently upon someone that finished four years at KU than someone who did a semester at HCC and then dropped out.

The problem with this is that it’s very superficial to judge people just based on their education. It wasn’t 20 years ago that people could get by on either a high school diploma or not even that far and still make a decent living.

Now not even college can ensure you a career. It’s depressing to think that while college is something that we’re expected to do, we might not even get anything out of it but a diploma and bills.

Is college something that we all need? Not necessarily. Some people graduate and still get careers at places that don’t require anything past high school.

Throughout life you will find people that work at gas stations and warehouses with masters degrees, and it really makes you take a look at things.

The questions more people should be asking is if they really want to go to college, or if they just feel pressured by society to do so.

Back to judging people based on their education, what does it really matter how long people went to school?

The college graduates that look down on those that didn’t get as far as them don’t realize how important these people are.

What if everyone had masters degrees in something but there was no one to fix our cars or make our food at restaurants?

I’m just saying, do what you want with your life. If you don’t want to keep going to school, than don’t. A high paying career isn’t all life is about.

Life is short, if we don’t try to enjoy our time here, than what do we really have left?
