Drama instructor writes book

Charlene Widener can now see herself on Amazon.com Widener is the Director of the Theater Program as well as a speech teacher for the Language, Literature and communications Department here at Hutchinson Community College.Widener recently had a book published by VDM Publishers, a publishing company out of Saarbrücken, Germany.

 
Two students to be awarded
leadership scholarships

During the graduation ceremonies on May 9, the two 2008 recipients of the Richard E. Smith Leadership Scholarship will be announced.Six Hutchinson Community College students are currently being considered for the award, all of whom have participated in volunteer activities through HCC and in community service projects. Only one male and one female will receive the honor.

With finals coming up and school coming to a close, many students are wondering what they should do with their lives. For a lot of students, college is something that’s expected of them. These days if you don’t go to college it seems like you’re looked down upon.

Herrera, Bales bid
 farewell to HCC

Two more Hutchinson Community College men’s basketball players are headed off to four-year schools as sophomore Abdul Herrera and freshman Blake Bales signed their letters of intent on April 25 at the Sports Arena. Herrera signed to play at Kansas State University, while Bales signed on to play at Division II Northwest Missouri State University located in Maryville, Mo.
