Sarah Marshall is unforgettable

In what was the perfect balance between obscene vulgarity and heart-warming romance, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” was definitely one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.

Directed by the same man who brought us plenty of nudity and comedic relief in “The 40-Year Old Virgin,” and “Knocked Up,” Nick Stoller created a masterpiece of trolling through one night stands to find that one special person.

When musician Peter Bretter’s (Jason Segel) long-time girlfriend and TV star Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell) breaks off their romance for another guy, Peter is devastated.

Choosing to take the high road and drown his sorrows in random girls and sex, Bretter eventually finds his way to Hawaii in an attempt to mend his broken heart with the beautiful scenery.

Upon his arrival, Peter meets a beautiful front desk clerk that immediately sparks his interest, while simultaneously discovering that his ex-girlfriend and her new rock star boyfriend are staying in the same hotel.

One of the best characters in the movie, Sarah’s newfound boyfriend, Aldous Snow, is played by Russell Brand and shows viewers that there’s always room in a movie for a jerk that loves nothing more than to sleep around.

While it may not be the preferred personality in everyday life, it’s always funny to see on the big screen.

Through a variety of situations that test Peter’s adversity, this lovable character ends the film on a high note, just where the audience wants it.

One of the best things about this movie is that within the first few minutes of the movie, there is actually full-frontal nudity. And for once, it’s not a female.

As a movie-goer who is fed up with seeing so many naked girls, and so few naked guys, it was refreshing to see that some directors are attempting to find that balance.

It’s not about seeing naked guys; if that was the issue I would just hook up my laptop to the internet and get searching.

After all, why else would college students own computers? The issue is instead, that girls see other girls naked in most popular movies, but rarely do guys get the chance to suffer through the same ordeal.

Through a whirlwind of sex, obscenity and downright visually shocking images, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” is definitely a movie to see, just not with your parents.
