The U.S. should continue attacking Afghanistan

As sure as there will always be war, there will also always be peace protesters.

In the midst of the United States’ air strikes against Afghanistan, there are people raising a mighty ruckus in opposition to the use of military force.  They cry out with sympathy for the innocent lives that will be lost. They say violence should not be answered with violence and negotiation is the key.  We tried that before, and ended up fighting an unwinnable war in Vietnam, senselessly losing thousands of Americans.

Bush’s decision to strike Afghanistan was a good one, if for no other reason, because they asked for it.

The Taliban’s statement that America didn’t have the courage to attack them was like a tease, and they’re paying for it. Furthermore, the Taliban was given an opportunity to hand over Osama bin Laden or face military action.  They refused the offer and will face the consequences.

Bush has not wavered in his un-negotiable offer to the Taliban and should be applauded for it.  If the Afghanistans think they can challenge America, they have another thing coming.
