Forum hopes to prevent hate crimes

Personal beliefs and public issues met head to head as members of the Hutchinson community recently came together to discuss the role of hate crimes in America.

The Hate Crimes Forum was held on Sep. 22 at the Stringer Fine Arts Building in the B.J. Warner Recital Hall. The forum, which was sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa, consisted of a six-member panel that evaluated a number of topics ranging from accurately defining a hate crime to protecting freedom of speech.   More...

 Appreciate the parking privilege, don’t disrespect church members

 Each day Hutchinson Community College students fill the east parking lot of the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on 12th street. While most students park on the east side of the parking lot, some students continue to park on the north.  Although some students may think that there is no difference in the two sides, there is. The east portion of the lot is open for students to park in, but the north is not. The north portion is reserved for church use only.   More...
