Music filled the B.J. Warner Recital Hall in the Stringer Fine Arts Building Sept. 10 as the Hutchinson Community College Jazz Band performed for a large audience.

Students fired up over new smoking policy on campus

Like a cool breeze after a rain shower, change is drifting through the HCC campus.
Enrollment is up, blue restricted lines in the parking lots no longer mean “keep out,” and 30 feet has a new meaning for smokers.After a Student Government Association smoking survey last spring, a new policy regarding smoking on campus was drafted and approved by the Administrative Council.  More... 
  

Stafford remembered as ‘understanding’

Dale Keller remembers Jeane Stafford’s incredible sense of humor.
“Her whole body shook when she laughed,” Keller said.
Stafford taught at HCC from 1988 to 1998. During that time, she shared an office with Keller, English instructor; Jim Schinstock, philosophy and human relations instructor; and Esther Stoss, secretary. Stafford left HCC in 1998 to help her husband put his “broken practice” back together after a series of problems with medical record keeping and charges of noncompliance with other medical duties.  More...
