CDL Course

The HCC CDL course is a short course designed to prepare students to successfully take the written test to acquire the CDL driving instructional permit and then successfully take the Pre-Trip Inspection and driving examination at the Kansas Department of Motor Vehicles to receive a Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL).

Course Schedule

The course is held on two consecutive Saturdays, once a month on the HCC South Campus. The first session of this course will prepare students to test for an Instructional Permit at a Division of Motor Vehicle (DMV) location of the students' choice. Successful completion of this course will allow students to earn 1 hour of college credit. Included in the course fees are ten (10) hours of practice "drive time" with a driving instructor, and use of the HCC tractor/trailer for completion of the driving test at the DMV. The drive time and the driving test will be scheduled with the driving instructor by appointment.

Course Fees

The HCC CDL fee does not include DMV fees for tests and licenses. Contact HCC for current course cost. You should contact the local DMV office for current license fees.
