Rimmer Learning Resource Center (RLRC) is designed to promote student success, retention, and graduation. We encourage students to take advantage of the center's resources and services, which include...

Free Tutoring

We offer FREE tutoring with CRLA-certified tutors (College of Reading and Learning Assistance).  For math and writing, we have drop-in tutoring both face-to-face and online during all open hours.  We also offer tutoring by appointment in math, reading, science, social studies, computers, business, and possibly other subjects by request.

Supplemental Instruction

Do you need extra help in General Biology, A&P, General Psychology, Human Relations, or Sociology?  If so, come to one of several study sessions available for each subject.  No appointment needed.

Technology

Rimmer offers an open computer lab and free greyscale printing for all students and community visitors.  We also offer free HCC-course-related color printing and scanning.  Wi-fi is available in the building, and patrons may use the copier and fax machine in the library downstairs for a small fee.  Click “Technology” below for details about community use and technology.

JFK Library

The JFK Library offers information and resources of interest to donors, alumni, visitors, and community users. Our print, eBook, and audio-visual collections can be searched using the link to our online catalog. We offer in-house access to numerous research databases, as well.

Learning Communities

A learning community combines two or three academic courses into a single college class—a group of students and faculty members who meet together in RLRC to explore a class theme. These classes of ten to fifteen credits are a great way to meet your AA-degree and transfer requirements.

Online Resources

Students can find many useful resources in the pages for JFK Library and Rimmer’s tutoring services, as well as through the library’s databases.  The Online Resources page lists many more study resources you can access online—for time management, note-taking, reading, typing, and a variety of academic subjects.
